The Throat Chakra
The throat chakra is probably the toughest one for me to keep in balance. I often struggle to find my voice when I have thoughts to share. It’s amazing that I have chosen a career that involves sharing my thoughts on a regular basis. I guess it’s true they say what we fear most is what we most need to do.
As I was exploring the horse’s perspective on having a voice it made me think of all the horses that have been dismissed. Asked to not share their opinion as it doesn’t match up with someone else’s agenda. It’s super lame, I can empathize with the frustration many of them must be feeling.
Can’t there be a happy medium? A way to hear each other out but still get the work done?
I know I’m not the only one feeling this way as this is becoming a major catalyst for change in the horse industry. It’s beautiful to see things moving toward care, training, and management based on equine behavior, instead of just taking advantage of their instincts and doing what is convenient for humans.
Seeing horses that have quit trying to communicate with the people they know they won’t reach has taught me that the throat chakra is all about finding impactful words. There must be clear communication and that resonates otherwise it doesn’t do much good. The throat chakra helps us to speak in such a way that our voice doesn’t fall on deaf ears.
Phases to steady the throat chakra…
I speak what’s on my mind and in my heart
I speak clearly with openness
I speak with impact
I speak with resilience
Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes. Maggie Kuhn
